Don't know if you got the wheels yet or not but I have the Sportmax mesh wheels I needed some cheap wheels that looked better than stock (to me) and would hold up to my abuse!
Anyway they look good had'em on my car for at least a year now i've hit large potholes, curbs, speed around corners doing 100+ (not recommending this by any means) Drifted a little, ran over and through chunks of car and all I have to show for it is a little curb rash. no bends no cracks at least not yet.
They are pretty good for the price, they are heavy, they aren't Volk Quaillity but they are nice.
I've seen really nice JDM wheels kick the bucket (Super Advans for one my personal fav) I've heard they are soft though so it doesn't speak for most.
Get what you like and be happy. Get Sportmax and save some doe, get Volks,Works, etc be prepared to spend some doe. If I had a couple thousand I would have went with the Volks SF Winnings or Something similar to the BBS wheels.
Depends on what your willing to do

my 2cents (not worth much)

As stated beforehand. Good quality wheels don't crack. Engineers call this behavior ductility, and it's what prevents catastrophic failures. The metal bends, deforms, heats up, etc and that all dissipates energy without failing.

Not that OEM is by any means TOP quality in the world or anything... But i've seen plenty of OEM rims cracked and/or broken... I've seen pics of RX8 rims broken severely aswell as some Subaru rims cracked at work. You hit something hard enough and it's bound to happen.

Remember that Lightweight Forged doesn't always mean stronger. Sportmax, manufactured by Primax is OEM Supplier for many companies. They following industy standards for strength and stress testing. This is not a small company so they have A LOT TO LOOSE. You better bet they will cover their butts when it comes to liability.

Frankly we specialize in High End Products = EXPENSIVE, not Affordable....

However, I totally approve of the SPORTMAX VALUE...... Be creative and produce your own centercap emblem and you'll have a set of DOPE looking CHEAP Wheels.

If the Sportmax wheels sold for the same price as Work Emotions then I'd say no go on the "VALUE", not because of product integrity, just because of Brand Recognition. The Work Owner would be much more content than a Sportmax owner who spent the same amount on his wheels. It's all relative my bruthas....

I was just looking up some info about wheels online, and came across this. Don't be too quick to call other people idiots. Quality wheels DO crack! Here's a 19" SSR GT7 (retail $580 each) that cracked in a rollover. Now take your Volk's, go smoke a curb, and see what happens. Oh, and even if they do just bend and don't crack they're still useless. What good is a bent wheel? Who's the fool now?
