What wheel dimensions to avoid fender rolling/tire rubbing?
Let me first say that I'm a newbie when it comes to aftermarket auto parts. This is the first care that I liked enough to want to improve it.
I'm considering getting new 18" wheels on a stock 2004 rx8. I've read around that some members needed to do some fender rolling to avoid rubbing. What type of tire dimensions should I look for in order to avoid having to roll the fenders? Width? (7.5, 8, 8.5"....) Offset? (38, 40, 45mm ... ) <--- This I don't really understand much. I hope this isn't too silly of a question. steve |
I think tire Rolling and Rubbing are two different things.

You can get up to 9.5 without any rubbing if the offsets are correct. Check the Enkei RPF1 thread for the correct offset. |

You can go a bit wider than that even (well in the rear). I have 18x10 +50 in the rear, no rubbing, therefore no rolling required.

I meant non-staggered, but you are correct (obviously, as you have them on your car).
