What do you guys think of DPE wheels?

Thinking about getting a set of these on the RX8, i'm sure if there is enough interest we can get a GB setup....

These are 100% fully forged wheels, 2pc construction, custom made, custom offset, lip sizes,etc...

wheels weigh around 18-22lbs...

I like the 4th pair. I don't think i'd ever change the stock 18 inch wheels though. Just not worth the money to me.

I love the stock wheels too, but what really gets to me is that with the fenders being so wide the wheels are kind of hidden and tucked in behind the flares....

I really wish mazda put a lip on the stock wheels....

I love DPE wheels...high end stuff there. Even with a group buy, I probably still couldn't afford them! :/

Very nice looking but a little too high end for the RX8 crowd. More M3/Porsche level.

Most 18" applications are in the $2600 range...

I wouldn't say they're too high end for our cars. They have high performance wheels, and we have high performance cars. I think that's a perfect match! Besides, don't we push comparable numbers on the road tracks as M3s and some Porsches?

More in relation of cost of wheel to cost per car. This might be high for somebody who drops $30K for a car, than somebody who drops $60K-$80K for a car. Not really what the car is (sports car). Hell I know somebody that dropped $5K on his rims for our car. I guess just from my perspective the cost of an item should be somewhat related to the cost of a car. For example I've seen a $12,000 SC kit (giving about 120 hp) for a Porsche 911 that people see as a viable alternative, but if it was offered for the RX8, I would say it was excessive in price. Just a way of thinking of mine.

I used to love volks back in the day but ever since they started making some of their wheels oversea's (china) i kinda dont think so highly of them...

TE-37's are my favorites though...

they are great if ou can afford them.. or if you want to stick with stock then get spacers.. i think you will have to get them custom made though...

i agree the thing i hate most about my car is the tucked in look of the wheels ... and the high ride height in the front!..
