What brakes do I have?

Here is a pic of my brakes. The calipers say Mazdaspeed. I'm not sure what replacement pads to put on them. Is this the factory setup? I was told by the previous owner that he spent $2000 upgrading the brakes. Any ideas? It seems that some people put decals on their calipers, but the logo on mine is cast into the caliper. Must be a factory upgrade?

These calipers were painted and a Mazdaspeed stencil was used. They are not special calipers. The look stock to me. I'm thinking the $2000 brake upgrade was maybe $800 at most for the rotors (front and rear).

stock calipers with probably aftermarket pads (hard to say) with slotted/drilled rotors.

Although I am disappointed that the seller may have lied to me, at least I will be able to easily find the proper brake pads for my car. Thanks for you help

Youd be surprised what people will say to make a sale.

Maybe your seller DID pay that much. It's possible that he's stupid and over spent. Who knows.

The only way to make a sale. If you really have to sell it right away, you will have to go to desperate measures to do it.

Here are some pics. Upon closer inspection, the letters are some sort of vinyl lettering.

Not true at all. If you want to make a quick sale, then sell for just below market value, don't bullshit about product being sold.

What exactly did i say to make you respond that way? Were not talking about the housing market here. All i'm saying is, if you really have to sell it quickly, you will have to use desperate measures to make a sale, that's all i'm saying...

Ah, no biggie! It just irritates me when sellers mislead buyers, or even flat out lie about the product they are selling, simply to close a sale. Sure, it happens every day, but that doesn't make it the honest or responsible thing to do, let alone last option. For a quick sale, a seller should drop the asking price below market value, rather than lie about the product being sold.

Claiming that the OEM calipers painted blue + random slotted & drilled rotors are a $2000 upgrade is not an honest selling technique (unless the seller was such a putz that he paid $2000 for the rotors/paint, though not likely).

This would be an example of a $2000 brake upgrade

^all IMO, of course^ Sorry for off topic everyone

Well, I probably paid too much for the car. I justified the price based on the upgrades. But, it doesn't change how I feel about the car. It is in perfect shape. If you look under the hood, It looks brand new, so the car was very well taken care of. I love the car, just bummed that I was lied to. Thanks for straightening me out.
