Cool Volk Racing CE28 on order...

Actually I'm going to order these rims tomorrow morning.
I saw them at the dealer and I have to say they must be among the lightest ones out there. I'm going for 18x8 front and 18x9 rear. Problem is there are two 'types', the N model and the NF model. The second one you can see it fitted on my car...

So what do you guys think? I prefer the NF more...

...and tire dimensions are probably going to be 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear.
Any comments on this?

guys why go 19? they are more expensive, tires are more expensive and performance gets worse, doesn't it??

rim is heavier too... rays enginnering just answered the e-mail my dealer sent, and the ce28N in 18x8 is only 6.63kg or 14.6lbs and 18x9 is about 7.2kg if I remember correctly...

the only problem is the NF series come only in 18x8... and I can't get a staggered setup:o

14.6 lbs for 18 inches? That is incredible! Stock rims weigh like 20lbs!

18s are fine. Staggered isn't necessary. Go 18x9 front and back, and don't go for the NF. Get the one with the lip.

What's the difference? NF is "No Finish" ? I like the ones in the pic.

Weightwise... these are supposedly some of the lightest 19" rims around.

Go with 19's and go for the finish in pic #1. You raise a good point on the bigger the wheels the more performance is suffers!! I don't a 1" increase would affect performance to much. Besides....you will look pimp!!

Good luck.

Considering the 19's weigh less than most 18's I would go for them.

Assuming you got the higher packages... why would anyone downgrade from an 18 to a 17... that's sad.

For Volks, go bigger.. 19 looks good on the 8. 18 is fine too. 17... it's a tad dinky, but they do make them in 17s... for like Civics and stuff.

wow, guys :o you are driving me crazy with the 19s... :p
actually, the main reason not to go for 19 is the road conditions here, which are really bad. 19s are going to break my back along with the rest of the car... seriously. if I could go for 17s I would, but the 8 has a weird shape...

well, I agree with that, but I have to confess that I started with a smaller budget. however, when I saw the volks I had to get them... 19s do look great but they are even more expensive, so I don't want to spent that much

heh, you know, only the 4 center caps cost about 200euros

Depends on which Volks you get... hehehe. I ordered SF Challenge 19".. no center caps needed. But ya, mucho expensive. About a 2 week paycheck for me, but I had to go 19 or not go at all.. it would rack my brain thinking of "What ifs."

SF are nice looking rims but a bit heavy... centre part is casted not forged, thats the big difference. In 19 I think they are heavier than stock. Overall is a good choice though...

SF-Challenge are way heavy. I know -- I have them. 26lbs in 19x8.5 and 27lbs in 19x9.5. They look good, though.

Nice!

Awesome man! These will look great on your car. Please post some pics when you have them mounted!

Personally, I'd go w/ the ones w/ the lip. (But again, just personal preference... either way will look great.)
