tyre wear
How does everyone find the rear tyre wear?
I had mine 2nd July 04, quite happily enjoying my car til some idiot who was flashed by someone, didnt bother to take the effort to look himself and ran straight into my passenger side. Two new doors, rear panel and three new alloys and tyres resulting in a £4,500 insurance claim.
Anyway my point is this; I'd had the car 5 months (10k on clock) and the rears were getting close to changing, so lets say they would have lasted for 6/7 months. Since I had the car back (bearing in mind the rears were both relaced), the tyre tread was checked at the 12,500 service and 3 mm versus 6 mm left on the fronts, legal limit being 1.6mm. This was after just over 2months of driving so these tyres appear not to be lasting anywhere like the first set. To make matters worse I actully worked out that I'd driven far less miles per month since I had it back so they appear to be wearing at a far faster rate than I first realised.
Ive had the car taken back in for a geometry test today in case misalignment/tracking are causing any problems.
any thoughts?

Chassis is out of alignment - which means the frame could still be tweaked. Have the alignment of the wheels checked again. If they can't be brought into spec, have a chat with your insurance co. and bodyshop.
