I had the same question. New tires incoming in the next month. It looked like an extra $30 charge for little to no reason. What would it take to do a rebuild anyway? Is it even nessary...I was unable to find any information on any recommended maintenance on the TPMS.

I zoom therefore I am.
you know the saying, a retard will post pithy sayings when he's talking out his ***
but i digress..
30 bucks is pretty steep for something you can get for 5 to 10 bucks from a dozen other places.
When I replaced my wheels i reused my tpms, i had a small leak afterward caused by a pinched o ring. Not saying everyone had that issue, but for 5 bucks you can increase your chances of not having it.

discount tire direct charges 5 bucks per tire which is nothing. I was trying to figure out if it was needed as I saw a bunch of things online where they would sell the kit even for cars where the TPMS weren't rebuild-able. That was actually my main concern here.
can they be rebuilt easily and can you do it yourself? I know the tire place will charge to do it.
