Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Folks,

I recently had a low tire, turns out it had a nail in it. I didn't get any warning from the TPMS at all.

Turns out that was for good reason, seems mine is not equiped with the system according to my Canadian Mazda dealer.

I was under the impression that the only option on a 2004 GT was the NAV package. Can anyone shed some light on this issue?

TPMS is standard on US RX-8 only. I guess you people know how to use a tire preasure gauge.
We don't so we get TPMS as will ALL USA cars in the years ahead.

I've been saved by a TPMS in previous vechicles. Even if you know how to use a tire pressure gauge it's not going to help you on the freeway. My light went on a number of years ago. I was able to figure out which tire and how bad it was. I called AAA and went music shopping while they fixed the tire for me. I'd much rather have that then constantly checking the tire pressure everytime I drive the car.

You may want to thank the Ford Expoder/Explorer for this little phenomenon.

Get a nice digital tire pressure gauge and check them as precribed in the manual. I know it may slip your mind from time to time but at least do it before a road trip.
