Those that have TEIN Flex installed.....

I have had mine on about two weeks now and have a rattle question. Are any of you getting a small rattle out of the rear setup when going over small bumps? From reading posts on other forums I see this quite a bit. I am seeing everything from "it's a TEIN thing" and pertfectly normal, it's the workings of the setup, to "after a while it goes away" to "tighten up the upper bolt and see if that works"

I have a mazdaspeed rear strut bar that I am sure is just reasonating(sp) and exagerating the sound, and it's not real bad. I'm just curious if you are having the same issues. If you did are are no more, what did you do about it?

I love the setup and feel it's $'s very well spent.

Thanks

Gordon

I don't think my answer will be very helpful, because I have not noticed any rattle. However, next time I drive my car (hopefully she'll be ready in about two weeks) I'll look for it and let you know.

Don't know if this will help, but I was getting a rattle with my JICs and it turned out to be the positioning of the rear springs on the upper mount. The end of the coil was next to the outer lip and it would touch over small bumps. I rotated the spring till the coil end was next to the flat part of the pearch and the rattle went away. Might check it.

Thanks...will do....I also got this today from TEIN....

" On some of our applications some noise is completely normal although with the RX-8 the matter can be solved by a simple add of grease. On the bottom collar of the rear suspension, grease the inner and outer of the collar with a thick grease. This should resolve the issue. "

I havn't heard any kind of rattleing noise with mine and i have had it on for about 4 or 5 months. Kinda makes me want to listen real close though and see if it is there and has just been muffled by my exhaust or not.

It's hard to explain. it's a low end rattle....if you've ever hear a loose suspension arm, kinda like that. Not like plastic on metal or metal on metal.....I checked the springs, bolts, and all that stuff and all are tight....I bet (hope) the grease thing makes this go away. It wasn't greased when installed........and I'm sure the MS hollow strut bar is making the sound louder......I'll keep yall posted.

Hell, I could just crank up the XM and i don't hear it at all.....:D

okay boys and girls.....I did the grease thing and it helped with one of the little annoying rattles but still have some noise....so for grins I removed the MazdaSpeed rear strut bar......noise is damn near gone.......grrr.....bar resonates what's going on back there much more than one would think...so...now it's on to maybe nylon or rubber washers to see if that can isolate the bar enough......i'll let you know.....
