I don't understand why this industry never lets people try parts out (like tires, which make a huge difference in the performance of this car) before they blow their money and end up unhappy with the product.

Why is it that everyone has just simply "accepted" the policy of once you pay for it you're SOL if you don't like them? There are several brands of tires I'd like to try out on the 8 especially now that I can't get the OE ones anymore at a decent price like I could a couple years ago, but none of these ****** running tire shops let you try before you buy.

So don't buy from them. As much as I like your thinking I have never heard of or seen a place that lets you try out tires before your buy them. Just not currently warranted based on the market. Tire Rack has a great selection. find someone locally that has the tires you want and try them out.

Chances are you can't really tell the difference in a test drive anyway. What you really want from a tire only comes out in the most adverse of conditions. I suspect you'll never get to test that out.

Before you close, I'd like to report that I just had a McDonalds cheesburger, and it's the first one I've had in over 7 years. Boy are they delicious when you're drunk!! Go Packers!!

This is why people like Tirerack, Car & Driver, SportsCar, Grassroot Motorsports..etc do tire test comparing tires with similar specs...You read the article and make an educated assessment as to which one will suit your needs the best.

If you don't know how to read, buy a particular set of tires, try them, if you don't like them sell the set and lose about 20% of what you paid for it...Your choice.

 

Nice I'll try them out...but I don't understand why more vendors can't offer that.

If you buy a burger at McDonalds and you think it tastes like **** and take it back up to the manager, you can bet your *** they'll give you back your money.

Thank you for providing your useless, painfully obvious information on my thread just as you do on as many other threads as you can. First off there is labor involved. Secondly, the shop would have to have literally hundreds or even thousands of demo tires laying around to fit the many different applications associated with so many different cars. Lastly, these tires would have to be mounted on your car which means a cost to the shop owner. Then the demo tires would have to be removed. What if you didn't like the first set now you want to try another set so they have to go through the whole process again. This would cost the shop lots of money and time. Now if you don't buy anything their SOL and didn't make a penny. Just a flat out stupid idea if you ask me.

Another point to look at is heat cycles. If you buy a extreme summer performance tire and keep it stored below 32 degrees, flat spot it, or heat cycle it out. It becomes useless to someone who wants a brand new...or practically brand new tire...And all this can occure with only 500 miles of use. But it can destory the normal life of the tire...

Does this make any sense to you?

 

dude... just buy tires. if you dont like them... try again when those wear out

 

i dont know about you but i wouldnt want to buy tires that someone else tried out already unless its heavily discounted
