which sway bars???
i am new to the rx8 and i just went to my first autocross event. i noticed the car has a lot of under steer. what is the best way bars for the money

Factory alignment specs are 0 camber front, -1.5 camber rear.

some people say progress sways.
i remember some people who have them mentoned the weak braket issue for these sway bars. do some search, and u will find out.
i am looking to get agency power cuz i dont need too stiff and their price is decreased on the market.
there are tons of selections with provided stiffness rate. it all depends what u need them for.

i tryed doing a search really coudnt come up with anything if you can give me a link to this topic that would be great. i drive the car everyday but once a month go to a autocross event im looking for the stiffest set without going crazy money. i would love to go to coilovers but there is no way i have the money for it.

a proper alignment, tire pressure, and driving style
the only parts to change if you really insist on doing anything would be to replace the OE shocks with Koni
installing sways before shocks is putting the cart in front of the donkey ... almost any serious SCCA Stock class car will outperform almost every modded suspension car on this forum and the only significant change they do is to use Koni shocks

It's been a while since I read the rules, but in stock class, you are only allowed to replace the front swaybar. You are already understeering. So, adding a stiffer front sway bar will only add to the understeer. Like Team said, change out the shocks. Also, work on the caster/camber settings on the front.

gary, i would advise u search a long time , unless u like flames......
im looking at hotchkis sways ,but only front in hopes of getting back to bstock...
wait a minute...... u dont have to worry that exhaust delete will put u out of stock so u could change both
u should come run street mod with me, till i get a hood anyway.....
buy some r compound tires and learn the cars handling properties= best bang for$

konis are great struts (aka shocks), much better then the OEM ones. The beauty of them is they are fully adjustable so for Autocross you can crank up the stiffness.
the fronts are adjusted by popping the hood
the rears do require them to be removed.

i have been to a couple of track events and i want to improve the understear without spending lots of money thats why i want to know what would happen if i only do a rear sway bar for now

Maybe it's just me, but with the stock suspension I only really noticed understeer when turning hard under heavy throttle? I'm not the best driver in the world, but I don't think you should find yourself in that situation on the track very often

Conversely, a stiffer rear sway bar will make the car more prone to oversteer. Our cars are very well balanced from the factory, and you might not even realize it until you start modding the suspension indiscriminately.

I'm not trying to be rude, but it seems like you already know exactly what you want to do regardless of anyone's input. Why not just bite the bullet and put in a stiff rear sway bar?
