Stock Rims- Chrome, Black or Regular (which worth more?)
I have some time off and was thinking of powdercoating my stock rims either chrome or black(gloss), then possibly sell them. Just wondering what everyone's opinions were.
If you were to buy a set of stockies, would you pay more for black, chrome, or stock?
Thanks!

actually not really, I was just trying to get an idea of the best price I can get whether selling them as stock or powdercoating them.
Is anyone actually interested in buying a pair of stockies? if so what kind of price would you expect (w/o tires) to pay and for what color?

Ok so after a little photochop work I came up with this.
So what's the verdict, gunmetal with chrome lip, black, gunmetal or stock?

I think this largely depends on who is buying them and what car that person has. Personally, Gunmetal is the way to go. I'm actually thinking about re-conditioning mine and Powdercoating in Gunmetal Gray.

^ +1 If you're looking for the "most" profit, don't spend ANY money re-doing them unless they're in HORRIBLE shape already.

Yeah, true. But to be honest, I think I actualy like the gunmetal grey with chrome lip. Might actually do that and keep them.
What would you guys think I could get for stock rims if I were to sell them?
Check out the FS section... usually I see wheels go for 300-500 depending on condition or if they are Shinka wheels, etc.
Oh, and I vote for gunmetal only as well. Chrome would look terrible; just a clash of color. Just my opinion though, it's your car, so you should do what you want.

+1 on the NO chrome fan, i personally like them as just gun metal or even black. When i get the time im going to be doing mine black.
I think if you are really set on that chrome lip you should go with black and chrome, especially if thats your WB

To each his own!

There really isn't any "lip" to chrome on the stockies.
