The vendor I ordered my SSR Professor's from says the shipping container should be at their facility on December 20th!
:) |
this is damn rediculous. I would demand for my money back and buy some Volk's or BBS RX's. I just got my M3 2 months ago and have already bought winter wheels/tires, upgrade strut bar, AFE intake, and Carbon Fiber engine cover already! How much you want to be that I get my summer wheels on in March before these wheels come in?
|
i havent posted here. but i was jus waitin to see some pix. but danggg...... this has been one hell of a long wait to get some pair of shoes. feel bad for you cortc. patience is not my thing lol

You said you weren't going to get anything for the M3 because you were out of cash. Now you go out and get all that stuff and are getting more soon? |
I am on winter break form college, so I work 60 hours a week @ 20 hours of overtime until January 10, you do the math. :) I agree with the post 2 above, Cortc is one patient man.
|
Well you must have gotten an IOU from your parents because winter break just started and you would at most barely had a week of work by this time. No way you could have made enough cash to buy all that stuff and you didn't get all that stuff JUST this week.
Hey, what's that flag that some of the people add to their posts called? |
a B.S. flag...... someone's very funny.
|
I just received confirmation that my SSR Professor's have arrived!
Hope to pick them up no later than Friday! :) |
I bet you just made Cortc VERY jealous.
|

We haven't heard from him in a while on this thread. Maybe he already has them by now? |
Just got home with the Professors! :D
I have to say that the pictures of the Super Black Coat do not do it justice. These things are something to behold! I hope to have them mounted tomorrow, and will post pics in a seperate thread. |
congrats rob

Well, there will not be any pics anytime soon since I just got a call saying these wheels will NOT fit on the front as they hit the brake calipers.
:( My offset is 43 all around. Shouldn't this work? |

:( My offset is 43 all around. Shouldn't this work? The clearance from the strut housing is 1mm more than stock. Is the inside diameter of the wheel just too small? |

So even though the offset should be fine, the inside is shaped differently than stock so it is hitting the caliper, just barely. I spoke with the vendor, and he checked a few things and said it looked like it was the "face" that was the problem. Anyway, he said a small spacer of 5mm should work. Unfortunately, Goodyear doesnt sell (or install) spacers because of safety/liability concerns. However, the guy I know at Goodyear will install the spacer as long as there is sufficient thread left to get the bolts onto. At 5mm I wouldn't think that would be a problem, would it? I will try to get the spacers for the two front wheels next week, and hopefully that will resolve the issue. If anyone has any insight on the use of spacers, let me know. Obviously I would like to avoid the use of spacers altogether, but under these circumstances, what should I do? |
With 5mm spacers, you'll be 18mm wider than stock according to the calculator.
My Gram Lights are 10mm wider than stock, and that's about as "wide" looking as I like them (especially in the front.) I think you said you're keeping the stock tires on them for now, but if you go for a wider tire eventually and/or decided to lower the car, you may be "close" to being on the edge of the fenderwell in front. Not 100% sure, as I just eyeballed it with a ruler looking down from the fender. Maybe someone has a simliar difference from stock that can comment. Man, I hope this works out for you...I really love those in SBC. |
Yeah, this isn't exactly going how I had planned.
In hindsight I should have played it ultra safe and just gone with the exact same stock dimensions. My front tires will be sticking out 5mm more than the back, but that should be noticeable. |
