springs with wheels?

So I'm thinking looking at things that if I go with Tein S-tech's that I won't be able to get a really wide wheel. It looks like they might hit if I go with, say a 9.5. Anyone have any info? Don't really want to go with coilovers yet as they are WAY more $

I mean you could do a 18x10.5 +43 and be fine... There are endless possibilities man. Do some reading.

I have a 2 inch drop on my 8 with 20x10's with a +43 offset on the rear. running 275 30's, i had the fenders shaved about a half inch.

i am doing reading, the problem is there really isn't much in the suspension, wheels, and brakes folder. there are only 3 pages and most are "check out my new wheels" while that is cool, it isn't informative. when i search i only get 36 page stories of people chatting on a forum. while i'm not bad mouthing any of you, it seems like there really isn't much in the way of INFO for suspension.

and of course i was quite vague in my question, i get lazy while typing on my phone.

so here it is in a much better form. instead of doing coilovers, as the springs are generally alot thinner in diameter, do any of you know if i would be limited in width without hitting the suspension? this is much better.

as there are no tracks near me the most i can hope for is aggressive driving for atleast a while. everything i have read states that the Tein H's and S's/Koni's are a great setup. and looks great at that height, but the springs seem to be the same diameter as stock and it doesn't seem like there is alot of room under there. thats all i'm saying. i know anything can be accomplished with aggressive camber and fender trimming and rolling and pulling. i have no problem with the bodywork but tons of camber will kill tires on my spring, summer, fall daily driver.

now that i'm on my laptop and worked all day i am rambling, sorry.

Coilovers arent any thicker than springs.

Check out the Will It Fit thread. You will see people at stock ride height with wide wheels, and others that are dropped 2" all around. If you find a set of wheels you are looking for, tell us the specs and tire size that you are going to run. Then tell us your suspension set up, we can then tell you if it will fit or not.

well i haven't had any infront of me to compare but from a top sections view it appears as though the coilovers are a smaller diameter, not the spring matterial just the spring size. but i have been wrong before, and it appears as though i am now.

i will be setting things up this winter as the car will be sitting all winter. i will be purchasing the Tein S-tech's, Koni shocks, and looking for the most flush wheels that i can get in a 9.5 wide with something like a 275/30/18. fender rolling isn't a big deal there is a great place nearby that has done it on a friends M3 and it came out great and much cheaper than i expected, super aggressive camber settings are out as this is a street car for now and i don't want to trash my tires too early. i will also be getting the Progressive technology sways, but that doesn't matter much about fitment.

i am looking at the

Wheel Style - Rota Grid
Wheel Diameter (Inches) - 18"
Wheel Width (Inches) - 9.5"
PCD Bolt Pattern - 5x114.3
Offset - 38mm
Hub Bore - 73mm
Color - Hyper Black[/COLOR][/B]

they also have a 20mm offset as well.
