Spring Installation time

How long should it take to install a set of springs? My local shop told me it would be about 6 hours and at almost $100/hr that seems a little steep. For that much money, I can do a lot more than install some springs. Thanks

....6 hours? My friend did it himself with some air tools in about 4 hours max, and he's not a professional shop!

Yeah six hours for a shop is stupid. It takes me six hours but that is with beer breaks and fish and women stories included.

You can probably get four new factory struts here for $100.00. Bottoming out could be shocks or springs. Likely the shocks though.

I disagree. Shocks dampen the movement of the car. Springs keep the car lifted off the ground. Bottoming out is caused by a collapsed or bad spring.

yup same here; i just let them buy me lunch. Install could take 3-6 hours. 3 if you have a buddy and the bolts arent welded together. 6 if you're by yourself and the bolts ARE welded together.

Dealer, where I service my car charged for 5 hour of work (they gave me 10% discount from regular rate though) for replacing both all springs and shocks.
