As long as the mix is correct. You have to make sure u neutralize it enough.

Hot water and dawn works just as good.

I would NOT want to have any acid eat that plastic coating over those stock wheels.

Then it will look like crap once it begins to peel.

seems like a pain in the ***, especially considering there are cleaners that are actually safe for wheels and do just as good a job with less work. I personally use black magic wheel cleaner. Just spray it on let it sit for a few seconds and then wipe it off. No toothbrushes, no acids, no mixing stuff up. Just spray and wipe.

Yeah, I just use car wash soap and water but I was thinking of using this method on my old Land Cruiser.

You can get away with that on those cold Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler rims because they pit/peel like crazy anyways after a few years and at the point those ones were at, they were already in terrible shape lol...
