Rolling fenders?

I have 245/35/19s and I'm thinkin about going w/ the tein h-techs over the s-techs. anybody have any advice or opinions on this? I don't want to have any rubbing issues and really would prefer not to have to roll the fenders. I know you guys are the "subject matter experts" so I thought I'd see what you think.

ummm...hmmm.. wheel dimensions would help to answer theis question??

in anycase.. from what ive read in this forum..you can get away with a 35 offset for the rears and no rollage needed...

im running a 30 offset on the tires you mentioned and had to roll the fender lip <5mm took less than 5 mins to do the actually rolling with a fender roller..and slammed to the ground

sorry about that. The wheels I have are falken torque 5s and the offset is +38mm and they are 19x8s

Do you guys think the h techs would eliminate the majority of the wheel well gap I have and still allow free driveability without putting my factory front lip in danger. Thanks

with the h-techs and s-techs you aren't low enough to rub...especially with a 8" wide rim +38.

would you say that the drop w/ the h-techs is worth the money or is it better to just go w/ the s-techs? I"m not going to get into racing this thing just looking for a good drop to get rid of a little wheel well gap is all. I'm looking into a new front end and I don't want to be so low that I rub it on everything either so I was thinking the h-techs would be a good middle ground

i don't know how much higher/lower the h-tech is compared to the s-tech. i have the s-tech and it's not even that much lower than the stock height. it's actually the perfect height. it might ride a little stiffer than the stock...but nothing to bothersome.

Go with the S-techs.

I think its better to be a bit lower instead of buying the H-techs and regretting the purchase later because the drop isn't big enough.

I have S-techs, the factory front lip, and 19'' rims and I do not rub on much. Just remember to go over large dips, ramps, driveways, or speedbumps at an angle and you will be fine.

yeah, thats a good point. i'm going to go w/ the s-techs and I already go at an angle over most things just b/c I'm paranoid. lol I just can't wait for the new front end now

lol.. ya i know ure low too.. i believe im around the same as you..( less than a finger gap.. nicely tucked in.. my basics are on their lowest settings.. and im having a real hard time negotiating horizontal- to-steep-downslopes and speed breakers..not bumps..infact ive had to reverse into a downward sloping driveway... scarped my undercarriage a few times ever so lightly in the beginning when i was getting use to of the total slammness...sacrifices..

the things i do for the crazzy look..i will post pics up soon.. lots of peeps eager to see the setup as well..

as i said earlier the lower the better...

If your looking for that drift look like me, do what RX4life did, roll your fenders 5mm and get a 20mm spacer and cut the plastic closest to the bumper. Then slam some Tein basics and BAM! you'r good.

I installed the H-techs a few days ago....the car still looks stock. Does it take time for the springs to settle?

I'd give it a few more days. Do you drive the car a lot?

dont the H-techs have the most conservative drop?

IMO you wont really notice half an inch from stock height especially in the front...

not to offend rotary rasp but imo its just a waste of money unless the spring rates are stiffer?!

drop springs are mostly made to lower your car for a more aggressive look and half an inch doesnt do much for the look on the 8 especially in the front as i mentioned previously..

personally if i wanted drop springs i wound have gone with the H&Rs

Well, the H-Tech are supose to drop it 1 inch.

It's been about 200 miles now and the springs have settled some more. In comparing photos from before it seems to have dropped it just over an inch in the front and about a half inch in the back.

Looks good.
