Replacement Lug Nuts?

I bought my car used. It has wheel locks on it and the previous owner didn't have the key. I can get them off with a socket and breaker bar, but what should I replace them with? I want to use hex acorn nuts. Do I get the kind with a taper? Or are the wheels not self-centering in terms of the wheel studs? I am at work and want to get some on the way home. Any advice would be great; don't want the wheels falling off (wife's car). I'd never hear the end of it.

Order a set of lugs from a Mazda vendor like Goodwin. Lots of option and you can be sure they fit.

Apologies on the post locale. I know better, was just in a hurry.

Let's say I didn't want to spend $85+ on lug nuts. Can anyone help me out so I can get some at Advance, Autozone, etc? I don't think they are tapered; I believe they have the extended sleeve that slips through the wheel. But I'd like someone to verify. I don't what to put on something that seems to fit only to have it fail.

If you only need 4, then try the junk yard. You might get lucky and find an rx8 with some lug nuts still installed. It's much cheaper than buying the whole set.

If they are OEM, they are tapered. The washer /sleeve type you speak of are a Toyota design. Just stop at any parts store and have them look up the lugnut. Acorn style. And buy 4 of them to replace the locks.

FYI: Having the locks removed and 4 nuts remaining will do no harm for a few days if you order something special and have to wait for shipping.
