if only i knew as much about cars as i do about shoes, life would be easier for me...

what tires should i get for 18" rims? anyone?
at this moment i only know slick tires and they are not allowed.

Allowed for what?

Well to keep this simple people buy shoes for work, dress or sports.
Do you want tires for winter, track (road course or drag), long tread life or best all around street performance?

Actually, the Bridestone Potenza's that come with the car from MM are pretty damn good for all around, everyday driving!

Similarities between cars and shoes....both connect to the ground, once the tread is gone you slip in the rain, they should often be shined, both can be fashion statements, and most importantly....they smell if you don't take care of 'em :D

MM equip their cars with RE040. If u are getting new tyres, should consider Potenza RE050 (made in Japan). It shld cost abt $250 per tyre (?).

Sure, why not? The MM 6MTs come with 18" wheels stock.

U can explore the following:

1) Michellin Perceda
2) Bridgestone Potenza RE050A
3) Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3
4) Michelin Pilot Sport PS2

Try this site for reviews and ratings of these tyres (ie. look under "Max Performance Summer" tyres):

The review for RE050A is here:

I checked all the links that you guys put up and i must say that they are really helpful. thanks guys. dont really understand the terms or numbers stated but can guess.

ex:245/40-18

245- size of tyre
40- width of tyre
18- defintely the rim size

at this present moment really feelin the PS2 after all the reviews. anyone in SG can recommend a reliable place that also offers an attractive price?

Not quite.

I believe that 245 is the width of the tire expressed in mm.
40 is the sidewall height expressed as a percentage of width; i.e. 245/40 means that the sidewall is 40% x 245 or 98mm.
And yes 18 is the rim size.
