Rear Rotors

I bought these slotted & drilled zinc oxide coated rotors from MaxBrakes.com

Since I have a 07 MazdaSpeed GT w/ Manual Transmission I should have had the sports suspension package..... However, the rear pad does not cover the rotor fully just like the front does...

as a result the pads are skipping their edges right along the drill holes.

is this going to be a problem?

What is the history on the pads? Are they new? How many miles have you driven the car since installing the brakes?

Any time you install new rotors, the pads will wear against them unevenly for a while--sometimes a few thousand miles if the pads are ceramic. Sometimes they start on the outside and work their way in, sometimes the opposite, and sometimes fairly evenly. If the pads are not new, this effect may be amplified.

Edit: Mine have a stripe too that I believe is a little narrower than yours, but I will have to look tonight when I get home.

Edit 2: Here is a photo of a well-worn rotor and pad from my track set. It looks pretty similar to yours.
