Rear Koni Sport Shock Adjustment

I just put Koni Yellow 8240 1227 Sport shocks on the rear. Can they be adjusted by removing the lower mount only and compressing the shock. I e-mailed the Koni reps and they said yes but every thread I've seen here says it can't be done and that the shock has to be removed from the car. thx.

no, you have to take out the shocks to adjust it.

^ Yep. That's what I was told when I had mine installed. Only the fronts can be adjusted while on the car.

I also have Koni's....rears must be taken off to adjust...I was fortunate to install mine 1 turn up from full soft and very pleased....with Eibach springs.

Thanks for the feedback. I have them set at 2 tuns from full soft and I want them a little softer. I'll try 1 turn softer on Sunday.

the rears DO NOT need to be taken off to adjust them. you need to take off the wheel and the gold plate in the trunk around the shock tower, then use a jack to compress the shock and jam a peice of wood or metal in betweet the spring and shock tower under the car. then the shock is low enough to be adjusted from the trunk. lazy people always win.

I recommend putting them at 50%, which is 1-3/8 turns (2.75 turns full soft to full stiff)

if you need more than this then IMO you don't have the alignment adjusted properly
