Racingbrake 4pot Caliper Kit: Oem Rotor

Yo what's up guys,

I figure i'd put this thread out there since I didn't even know they did it until it was brought to my attention.

This kit is composed just like the Endless Caliper kit I had on my RX8.

You buy:

CALIPERS, brackets, and pads to mate with

ANY OEM Rotor Replacement. 1 Piece or 2 Piece, cheap or expensive.

This is a great alternative for people who just want an aluminum caliper up front since our stock rotors are already 12.7" up front.

BLACK OR RED CALIPER AVAILABLE:

IT's CHEAP TOO.....

MATE WITH OEM 1 PIECE OR 2 PIECE ROTORS, OR JUST KEEP THE ONES YOU HAVE RIGHT NOW AND JUST GET THE CALIPERS.

Rishie

Yes, scsi is the master. He showed this. It's in an odd place on their website. Who'd have thought.

Well they only offer Black and Red, SILVER IS NO GO from them. You'd have to do that at your end.

Just for reference

RB's WEBSITE PRICE: CALIPERS/BRACKETS/PADS ONLY....
$916.46 + SHIPPING FOR 2 CALIPERS, BRACKETS, AND PADS

OUR PRICE IS CHEAPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.racingbrake.com/RX8_4_pot...cpadbp-rx8.htm

IF ORDERED BEFORE FRIDAY WE'RE GIVING AWAY SUPER GREAT DEALS ON RB STUFF. ALL ORDERS WILL SHIP IN JANUARY, FYI. STACKING EM UP RIGHT NOW...

Thanks, Rishie

You won't find a Rear Caliper in the future. You can just make that right now.

If you go aluminum caliper in the rear you will lose the ebrake function.

Only way to avoid this is by adapting a hydraulic ebrake to your vehicle. Then you can make this happen.

Exactly, a lot of people didn't realize they made a

CALIPER/BRACKET system to work with the OEM Rotors.

Does anybody know if these have less clearance than the OE calipers? Translation: if I have a set of rims that fits with the OE calipers, will they also fit with these?

Yes it should based on the fact that they clear stock wheels.

But can't guarantee.

If you can measure the amount of space you have between the

FACE of the OEM Caliper and the inside of the spoke on the wheel I might be able to get a verification from RB.

hrmm...doesn't look like the calipers make full use of the stock rotor. you still got about 8mm of rotor that can be used!

I was thinking it was about 10mm or more. Is this the way they fit? I would think more pad to rotor would be a good thing.

I am pretty sure you will still have a more coverage in terms of the Sweep that this caliper has and forces applied do to the multi-piston nature of these calipers. You will also find better bite because it will disperse pressure more evenly on the pad. Just overall it should still be a large improvement over the stock brakes.

My Endless brakes were also similar to this but man o man they made a HUGE Difference.

Thats odd, because i have these brakes and they cover more rotor area than in Alucards pics, I will take some pics tomorrow.

But they are a BIG improvement over stock, i am still surprised as how efficient they are at dissapating heat. I can drive the car around with moderate to hard braking and these calipers stay warm to the touch!

Overall brake feel is improved, my brakes are no longer mushy, pedal travel is minimal. the brakes feel really natural on the car, does not feel over powering or too stiff, they are just perfect for me.

Will post some pics up tomorrow.

Does this upgrade include a brake proportioning valve?

Otherwise with larger calipers up front, you are going to send more brake fluid to the front than the rear, and throw off the brake bias.
