Question for those with 17" Rims

I got a 45mm offset (stock is 50), but it depends more on the design of the spokes than offset. Some wheels will fit, some don't.
Anything particular in mind? Some of the winter wheels threads included lots of pics of the different 17s used by forum members.
Regards,
Gordon

The ones I am looking at are 5zigen FN01R 17X8 F/ 17x9.5 R but the offsets are 38.
Enkei RPF1 17x8 F/ 17x10 R with a 45 and 38 offset respectively
Buddy Club P1 Racing QF 17x8 F/ 17x9R 35 offset
SSR Comps 17x8 F/ 17x9.5R 40 offset
Volk TE37 17x8F/ 17x9.5R 38 and 40 offset respectively
I should also mention that I am not looking for winter tires and I will be doing other suspension work to compensate for the staggered sizes

I am in the exact same situation as you are. It would be great to get some opinions about this topic.
The wheel I am looking at is the FN01R-C in the 17" but just wanted some feedback about that. The offsets are completely different than stock for that wheel.
Also wether or not it's a good idea to go from a 18" to 17".

Yeah, I looked at the above rims and then found some that were more bang for the buck. In other words, just as light (or almost) and half the price. I've never been in it for the looks.

So which wheels did you decide to go with Alex?
I am debating between the SSR Comps and the FN01R-C.
SSR Comps are lighter but cost about 200$ more if you dent one.

17 x 8 front 16.8lbs*
245/45 17 front 25lbs**
17 x 9 rear 17.2lbs*
275/40 17 rear 28lbs**
OEM wheels 23lbs†
RE040 225/45 18 28lbs**
* According to http://www.wheelspecs.com/specs/
** According to MFG claims
† I'm pretty sure that's what I've seen here
So total weight savings (assuming I added right) is 30lbs :D
