Question about stock rims
I have a noob question, I have a stock 04 GT MT with stock rims. I believe they are 18 inch rims, my question is when looking to buy some new rims what do I need to look for? I notice some are 18x9 or 18x6 and what is "offset" and what do I need to know basically when measuring up some new rims? Are the backs bigger than the fronts? Also what is the stock bolt pattern?
I'm just looking to buy some new rims and don't want to buy something that is going to rub or not fit right. I want to know what to look for when I'm looking online. Thank you.

First, do some searching, please.
When you see 18X9.5, that means an 18 inch rim with a 9.5 inch hoop. The offset is the distance in mm the hub contact surface is from the wheel's sagittal plane.

Oh, and you want to look at bolt pattern. I think the rx8 is 5X114.3, but it has been a while since I looked that up. That means 5 bolts with a spacing diameter of 114.3mm. Some rims come with multiple patterns.
Again, there is already tonnes of this info on here. The search button is at the top under the forum banner.

I tryed looking, even on google a little too but can't find a good source. Can't find anything telling me what rim size my model RX-8 will accept or what to look for when sizing rims in regards to if it will fit or not.

Here's some tips.
*USE OUR SEARCH FUNCTION, it's better than google becuase google will just pack with a bunch of random **** that only keys in on certain words.
*SEARCH IN THE SUBFORUMS. Take a look through the forum n' look through the sticky threads in the wheels and suspension forums. A lot of your questions will be answered if you just take the time to research.
*Check out some of these websites n' use their glossaries

If you don't wanna bother looking or educating yourself on what's proper then just go with this setup - you can't go wrong.
Rims: 18x9.5
Offset: +45
Tires: 275/35/18
Suspension can vary. I wouldn't suggest going any lower than mazdaspeed springs or racing beat if you don't know anything about suspension.
