question about 245/40/18 tires.

i'm pretty sure the 245/40/18 will fit the factory rx8 wheels.
now, will they rub in the front when installed?

no. they definately won't rub. I have 245/40/18 on 8.5 inch wide rims up front. offset of 38. i'm not positive what factory wheel offset is, but i'm almost positive you'll be fine.

+50.

People get 275's and 285's under the front fenders w/o rubbing 245 is nothing.

Yep agreed. I have 18x8.5 rims with +50 offset and run 245/40/18 with absolutely no rubbing and I am lowered.

i would probably go 235s on the stockers, 245s were a little soft for me

many people go 245/40 on the stock wheels with no problem. the softness is a characteristic of the tire and the wheel width.
