question
ok so im going to have some coilovers put installed my car and i would like to know how important it is to get the car corner weighted when i get an alignment.
i have been getting mixed feed-back from ppl saying yeah its very important to get the alignment and corner weight done while others are saying that its really no big deal.'
so i felt like it was time to come to the big board with my first real question. so what is everyones opinion? how important is the alignment/corner weight after i get my coils installed? (p.s some guy quoted me $400 for the alignment and corner weigh which sounded like a rip to me.)
thanks.

What is your objective? Are you trying to be competitive in something? Or are you just increasing street performance?
Corner weights are critical (IMO) on the track, but useless on the street if you have installed the CO correctly and you measure and adjust the suspended heights at the corners.
$400 sounds about right.

All kinds of benefit to corner balancing your car. If the balance is off then the handling will be compromised. The only thing that sucks about corner balancing is the wheel gaps will not be the same. Small price to pay for a great handling car.
If you are not going to track your car then make sure the front and rear get lowered equally. Meaning both front corners drop the same and the rears drop the same. This should help maintain the cross weight, e.g., front right and left rear and weight distribution.
The $400 quote is more than I paid to get aligned and balanced. It is a long process (3 - 4 hours) so price can vary based on what the shop's hourly rate.
