I'm interested in changing the rims in my 8, but I have a big doubt:

I want to put 225/40/19 front and 245/35/19 rear but the question is... is it "possible" to install different dimension in front and in the rear??? Everybody tell me I have to put the 4 wheels in the same measure, but I have seen a lot of member in this forum and US people installing bigger wheels rear.

So whats the difference you have installing bigger in the rear?? the steering would be affected? performances?...

You can install different sized tires/wheels. Go to tirerack.com to look at wheels that fit the '8. They have several sizes, and, supposedly, all the tires they claim fit the '8 will also take the TPMS (I only know this because a guy posting as the owner said they would).

If you having bigger rear wheels, handling will be affected, as you'll get more traction on the rear. My head says it should increase understeer because the front wheels (thinner) will break loose sooner than the rear wheels (wider) due to having less surface area. This, however, can be adjusted for with stiffer rear sway bars (assuming my first assumption is correct).

If you tune correctly, you could get the handling back to stock, but you'll have to stiffen up the rear. It's going to be about trial and error. As to how much of a difference will be made, I have no idea as I'm still riding stock tires/wheels.

If you do nothing, your handling will be difference (worse, assuming the factory turning is optimum), but you should have more grip on drag-style racing.

so if I change the wheels, and I install biggers in the rear I will notice... and the steering will be afected...

Most will tell you not to stagger because it negatively effects handling. You also can't rotate the tires.

What is the draw for you?

I would like to install the 4 wheels with the same width because it's better for the 8 and I am planning to buy 4 Avus Forged 8x19" with 225/40/19 to mantain the width of the tire... because I think more than 225 would affect performances....

but the "problem" is that I like the rears wheels to be "widther".. sorry but I don't how to explain in english... I want all 8x19" but the rears with more lip (I thinks it is said lip..) like in the photo...

I dont't knwo if it is possible to do this... is the reason I'm answering about installing widther rear...
