My stockers, powdercoated Anthracite with a layer of Clear Coat in the powder.
Look nicer in person and with more direct light, but you get the idea:

Had mine done black, nothing special about doing them just pick a color you can live with. It should also not cost more than $300 for all four rims.

Thanks. I like them a lot. I get a LOT of complements on them.
I even had one guy in a Blue Z06 Corvette running beside me stoplight to stoplight so he could ask about the colour choice, where I had it done, how much it cost etc.

Besides, it's as far away from pure evil (chrome) as I could get....

not much at all its a very thin layer of paint thats sprayed on and baked and that is after they strip the old paint off the rims. so really it shouldnt add much at all bc your replacing that crappy silver paint on the wheel with a colored paint.

check the prices at places that make boat trailers, a lot of times they powder coat them, I was quoted 40 a rim, if I brought in the bare rims, they would sand blast them, then powder coat them any color they had (red, black, white, silver) or I could just buy a bag of color from the company they get it froma and save a little on the cost. I would get an even bigger discount if I had them do more wheels at once.

I had mine powder coated in Long Beach @ Worco Powder coating.
$270 for all 4.
I choose High-gloss Black.

Powdercoating is not "paint." If that's what you are being told, you're not getting powdercoat. It is an actual powder that is sprayed onto the rim. Powdercoating can add weight, especially if the shop has to smooth your surface. While I have not powdercoated my wheels, I have powdercoated the frame of my motorcycle. I can tell you, it did add some weight.

Very nice - except the contrast is so much, it's hard to see the wheels! Look like black-holes where the wheels go!

haha :D

I have never been a fan of powder coating the whole wheel black. It makes it look like the car is missing hub caps or something. Most black wheels on the market leave the center section silver and the outer barrell of the rim silver as well.

I did have my center caps powder coated. In general I've gotten good response.

Ya. Actually, looking for these pics to post on this thread, I realized I don't have any good pics with the sun from behind me.
Those pics where taken either on cloudy days or with the sun overhead, and it gives the impression of the "black-holes".
Next time I take pics, I'll try to get some that are a better representation of what they look like in person.
It's kind of like trying to take pics of carbon fiber hoods.
Pictures never do it justice.

They are Kazera KZ-A's. I bought them from Tire Rack almost 2 years ago mainly because they were guaranteed to work with TPMS (now most wheels have been tested to work with TPMS)

Kazera is made by ASA which is the Korean company that makes wheels for BBS.

They are about as light as stock which is fairly light and they are durable (hit a NASTY pot hole a week ago with no signs of damage).

If you get new wheels and plan to use your TPMS, I would order some new TPMS seals (P/N: FE01-37-142) because with any new wheels you are likely to have small leaks if you don't also change out the seals.

The other nice thing about the KZ-A's is that the 9.5 on the rear goes all the way out to the edge of the fender perfectly with a 275/35-18 tire on them.

Overall I would give the wheels a B+ and considering they are reasonably priced I would change that to a solid A.

-Mr. Wigggles

Ps. I have lowered the front of my car slight since that pic was taken with some RB springs.
