If you want to paint them then definitely go with the dark grey. You could even go a bit darker and it would look good. As far as I'm concerned there are only a few colors that gold goes with which are white, black, red, and blue but definitely not the metropolitan grey.

 

i personally like the gold. but then again, im crazy. do what you like. do the color which you look at and say "damn, im glad i painted my wheels that color".

i might paint my wheels lime green on my VR, which will soon be painted. but then again, i had candy red wheels on my silver wrx. cause i liked it. do what you like.

 

stock, those rims are hot don't ruin them.

and to above poster... please for the love of god dont paint your wheels lime green on your VR. The RX-8 gets little to no respect as it is.

 

go with gunmetal grey or if you can get black chrome that will be allsome

 

it was just a thought. and they were going to be drift wheels only. all depends. im not really a fan of red, and but not really, i mean not at all. its a nice red, im just not a red guy. probably painting it this winter. not a stock mazda color either.

OP - again. i really like the gold.

 

dark grey would be nice. just get it done right.

 

I kinda like the gold too, but I think a matte bronze would be nice. Thats why I got the Falkens in bronze.

But Im crazy and I dont like the alloy cover cause all cars have that color, even hub caps.

by the way are you going to paint it your self ? or is it getting power coated ?

 

the gold doesnt look as bad as i thought, go out on a limb and try the gold

I'm leaning towards the high gloss gray - Gold rims will probably look dirty all the time.

 

can you get like shadow chrome ? they are very nice very nice
