Oh snap... Literary

Soooo, I have Stance gr+ coilovers on my Rx8 and the rear driver side coilover decided it wants to snap in half. Basically the thread on the coilover snapped everything else is perfectly fine. Question is, how can I get this replaced? I'm trying to get a hold of stance-usa.com but they seem to be closed for now. I just want to get that part replaced. I'm not sure if the coilovers have warranty on them or not. I don't mind paying either, just don't wanna pay another 1.3k for them.

Where the green circle is, that is where it snapped. I just need to get that new part.Name: Ag6DD68.jpg

Edit: The literary was suppose to be literally -.-
Edit 2: It snapped due to an accident. I just wanna know if I can get the sleeve/thread replaced without having to buy the whole suspension

Stance has really good customer support, they have replaced a couple of pieces for me that broke (after only a couple of thousand miles). Yours look to be the updated model as well (gold sleeves, the previous version rusted on the threads). But I am not surprised, they are cheapy coilovers and have a few issues. They just got hyped up so the have higher prices than the normal crap coilovers. I have them too but that is just the way it is.

Youuu have no idea how happy it made me to read "good customer service" haha I have dealt with many aftermarket part retailers who don't give two ***** about their customers. Yeah, it seems like where the space between the dampers is, is where it's weak spot is.

It is really rainy here in Seattle. I was headed home and it started to rain HARD like HARD HARD and then out of the blue it started to snow ****** in about 2 minutes the roads where white, slushy and very dangerous to drive on. The car ahead of me got scared and to avoid rear ending the **** out of him I downshifted and swerved. Lost some control of the car and JUST before I pull it out of the corner I hit the curb busted my rear control arms. Insurance covered the control arms but no aftermarket parts But they gave me a lot of money because my wheel broke and technically I need to buy a set of all 4 which is about 1000.
My dad was in the car and this is the first stick shift car I owned personally but I drove a ton of stick shifts (worked as a valet) my dad was extremely surprised I didn't stall it and kept control of the car. Cop also said it could have ended up much worse.

TL;DR Hit a curb, broke the wheel, suspension, rear control arms.

After hearing your story dont expect to have this covered under warranty (which it doesnt appear from your original post that you do) since the damage was your fault (ie: accident). Im glad your ok and your 8 made it out relatively unscathed. I have heard a few friends have positive experiences dealing with stance so I hope they help you get the replacement parts you need.

Ah its fine. I really don't mind paying ~200 bucks for just the replacement part, but the warranty would be better of course :D I just pray they can send me the part i need and not having to pay another 1.3k for another suspension or go back to stock no no

Thanks for the input, I will deff. be calling them on monday when they are open to see what I can do about it and I will report back. I hope it is as positive with me as it was with your friends

Oh, it's due to an accident?

Your first post is very misleading.

Didn't mean to make them at fault, i take complete responsibility for the coilover breaking.

Hi
funny i read your post because i'm looking at suspension parts...my first thought was to stay away from these guys...

but of course now we know the reason for the failure.

perhaps you would consider asking the moderator to completely remove this thread.

Oh, I didn't know they could do that, I was looking for the close thread button lol

They are really good, ride quality wise.
I'm gonna get it sorted out tomorrow when they are open.

Mod; Please close post, thanks!
