Newbie needs winter tire help.

Just got a 2005 GS last week - love the car hate the tires. The snowfall has not been bad this year but come on these things have no grip even on a cold day.

If anyone out there thinks winter is over and wants to offload their 18" Winter boots let me know - soundslike Dunlop Winter Sports, or Blizzaks have been popular - even if you think they are close to their last legs - anything would be better than summers. I'd buy new but I think I'm going to go with a beater for next winter. Thanks.

Where do you live? It will be April in little over a month. It would be cheaper to just take a cab next time it snows or rent a car.

I wish April were here now. If I can get to March 15th I'd feel okay about it. I'm based in Toronto but need to spend two days a week at my company Head Office in London Ontario which is like Buffalo - it can be sunny 50 miles while they are getting a foot of snow. A couple of few hundred bucks for some used boots now would be peace of mind for the next month, and maybe based on the condition of the tires prevent me from buying the beater for next year.

Well if you want to get something now I run Dunlop Graspic DS-2 on 17" rims from Tire Rack I got the whole tire / rims for under $1,000 USD. This tires are not the best dry weather tires but great on snow and ice.
