new wilwood caliper for rear brakes.
http://www.wilwood.com/Products/001-...-cpb/index.asp
looks like we have an option for rear big brake kits.
the s2000 community has already released a kit for the front and rear. either 4 or 6 piston front with the single piston rear.

looks pretty cool, maybe someone can get working on a kit for the rx8. pricing is very competitive on the s2000 kit.

Been there, looked at that already. First, the caliper is prohibitively-expensive, and it's only a single-piston, so it's no upgrade over what's already there. Second, it requires new emergency-brake lines as they enter at a 90 degree angle, and feature a different ball on the end.
Todd Cook at TCE Performance Products already has a front 4-piston 14" upgrade kit, with a rear 13" two-piece rotor setup available. It's affordable, works great, and does improve actual brake leverage on the larger rotors. His rear rotors are custom made to work with our calipers and are slotted to match the pattern on the Wilwood front rotors.
You can look him up at www.tceperformanceproducts.com.
Yes, I have a set of these on my RX-8, front and rear!

it's $1802.25 for the front kit with the 6 piston caliper.. includes: caliper, stainless line, 2-piece aluminum hat slotted rotors, caliper bracket, etc.. its a full kit..
$1331.35 for the rear full kit which includes all that too..
seriously.. that's expensive? have you seen the price of some of the braking kits for the rx8?

sorry, not new at all, just finally made it to the states, been available in europe for several years prior, I was working on this two years ago and just never pulled the trigger on importing them, there's another company that forced their hand, they had mechanical e-brakes on multi-pot racing calipers long before anyone else, I'll dig up the info

sorry, not new at all, just finally made it to the states, the Wilwood handbrake caliper has been available in europe for several years prior, I was working on this two years ago and just never pulled the trigger on importing them, HiSpec forced their hand, they had mechanical e-brakes on multi-pot racing calipers long before anyone else, these are commonly used in Europe and there wasn't much demand in the US

The above link is not actually a Wilwood product however they do make a four pot rear with integral e-brake similar to one of those. In fact I plan to make some brackets for one of them soon for a customer. (who went out of country to buy a set....)
Anyhow, no I cannot get that part here. No way, no how, not happening.
The regular e-brake caliper is a nice part but for the purists it remains a lateral move in performance. The larger rotor is the only real gain. And there are no easy performance pads for it anyhow. Call it eye candy. And for the cost it remains a "want one" over a "must have" purchase. Keep in mind it requires dedicated custom radial brackets- not simply steel parts. Mo money, mo money.... using a similar kit as a guideline (and one that sells in qty) the MINI rear kit runs $1195 for this basic set up. Anyone want to step up to the plate for a $1300+ custom rear kit here?? Didn't think so.
