Very sweet start to a project 8

maybe I'm not "with it" but I like the stock rims

You don't have to be "with it". The stock rims are very nice, but don't allow for larger brakes. So we had to go to different wheels.

Larger brakes? The stock RX-8 stops from 60 mph in 114 ft, that is exactly the same distance as the new Viper which the magazines rave about (the viper has 14" rotors and the RX-8 has 12") do you need to stop any better?

volks are really badass wheels......i like gram lights a wee bit more though
but they looks badass.....keep up the good work!

I think he is worried about brake fade on the track, not so much stopping faster.

Yes, that is part of it. Also, we're here out in Phx whare it's still hitting 105 and it's mid October. Imaging how hot the rotors get. After a hard day on the track we've seen alot of pad knock off and warped or cracked rotors. I'm planning on the Stoptech big brake kit.

And yes, the RX8 stops as well as a Viper in street trim but the Vipers we see on the track are running larger upgraded brakes as well.

I love those style of wheels! I had LE 37's on my S2000.

Nicely done. Are you still waiting on the suspension? JIC right?

mikeb 10-20-2003 03:28 PM

Huff,
Stop Tech is primo stuff, are you planning on doing just the front brakes or all four once their full kit is available?
