its not they don't go high enough i just like the top of tire to match the wheel well..

if i go with 40 i will gain 1.18" on the bottom and i have 1.5 of height to play with on the coilovers so overall just shy of 2.5 keeping the look i had/have.

if i go with the 35 i would only gain about half the height and not sure if it is enough while doing the same.

either way i know the set up i have now looks good with some wheel gap .25" but will not last without tearing stuff up.

well 265/40/19 seems to be a odd ball size so either 275/35 or 255/40. I may just raise the coils and see where im at with the height and size it from there. I plane to rework the charge pipe to get the clamps somewhere else which should help me gain a 1/2"

You guys are getting way too caught up on the numbers on the tires. They are accurate to a degree but tires of the same size vary by almost two inches between different brands. You need to look at the specific tire specs. I compiled this list of specs for the "will it fit" thread, check it out.

For instance, a 265/35-18 Toyo R888 has a section width of 10.80" and a 265/35-18 Falken Ziez ZE-512 has a section width of only 9.10"

Race tire versus DD tire. It's not really that HUGE of a difference when comparing similar tires.

265/40/19 will look so huge it's not even funny. 265/35 is already taller than stock and I wouldn't run that in the front if you are lowered.

Yeah i know, I was just surprised when looking at overall diameters and such how they vary.

I think you'll find you will have to remove a lot of the inner fender liner up front to get those to fit without rubbing. If you don't mind that then go for it

yeah im not sure i want to go crazy with the liners and all that. I know i like the flushness i have now. i like the stance but i know i have to do something about the height while keeping the look. I also do not want to go staggered or go crazy camber but also need some rubber with the turbo.

Your OEM wheels look pretty flush with the guard, and the F14 seems to have more poke than others, are you running any spacers?

That's because she isn't very low, minimal camber, and the angle of the photo I bet.

How would I fit 265/35/18's on a 18x9.5 wheel in the front without rolling the fenders on a stock bodied S2 R3? What offset would I need?

Hey Roen, I would not go with these rims in 9.5 you will not get the concave face that makes them so popular. The concave face starts at 10" or better.

With a stock none lowered R3 you can push those rims out a ways. I bet with a 265/ 35 on a ten inch rim you could push out to +35 with no rub issues.

I chose to stay conservative with +42 with 265/30/r18 and have gobs of room on my S1. If some day I need more rubber I have the room.

Why would you replace those nice R3 rims? On my R3 I just plan on pushing the stock rims out a bit with 20mm spacers and adding 245 rubber.

I ordered 10mm offset spacers for my +42 forgestars, that should put me where I want to be and I can take them off for track days.

I also ordered 20mm offset spacers for my R3 and that should make them just about flush.

I cant wait to do some photos.

Tracking the car, rules state I can't change outside of fender (i.e. flaring), but can modify or remove inner fender lip / liner.

Trying to see what's the widest I can fit given those constraints, and would like to be square or at the very most, slightly staggered. This car will be lowered on coilovers.

It would be nice if I could fit 18 x 10, 275 or 18 x 10.5, 285 without having to flare or otherwise modify the outside of the stock fenders.

I know for a Fact 18x10 +42 with 275s fit with Zero work. I bet you would not have a problem with the 285s with a +40 rim.

Maybe if you ask Real nice brilliantblackrx8 could check fitment in the front and back when his set comes in.

angeljoelv is running 275 +42s check it :https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...&postcount=375

I am running gun metal, Hmmm well if you really want to be different you could go Matt white...... but have fun keeping it clean.

I like the regular silver that Angel has on his WB. You will be more happy with the rims long term if you keep the color simple.

So basically you are saying go day glow orange?

haha

I guess I wanted a different shade if I'm paying the money I might as well stand out a little. A part of me whats to go with something crazy like a dark cherry basically black with a glimmer of red here and there.

The other part wants a simple dark gunmetal.

I'll go to the shop and look through the catalog, see what my options are.
