I like how they look on the silver and blue rx8... doesnt look like they have negative camber at all. I just don't want to spend a few hundred dollars more and time fitting the wheels.

Atilla 05-28-2010 05:38 PM

the specs on angeljoel's car are:

18x10 +42

275/35

looks like very minimal rolling and very little camber.

The rears on my car are dialed in at -2.5 rear and -1.5 front, this was checked by an alignment shop. The shop didn't adjust the camber but it's what was measured when I took it in for them to adjust the toe. It's the result of the low offset, rim width and the car lowered.

I didn't spend any money to get the rims to fit, I did it all on my own and it just takes some patience and time to get it to look good but it's worth it if you want a flush look with the 18x10 size.

do you think a 9 inch wide wheel at the front would be easier to run with no problems?

Atilla 06-01-2010 01:09 AM

^that is soley (SP) based on what offset you want to run.

yomomspimp06 06-01-2010 01:44 AM

atilla where are yours?

What Atilla said is dead on; depends on your offset. With a 9" width you won't have any steering clearance issues to grind out of the frame like I did but depending on what the tire size/brand is on the rim and how low you are you may at worst have to grind a tad bit out the fender liners.

If you run 18x10 in the rear, unless you have an offset around mid 30's or higher, if you're dropped you likely are going to need a fender roll and grind the fender liner. Also keep in mind you won't be able to rotate tires with a different size rear/front wheel size.

Let me put it this way, if you want a flush look you will have work that needs to be done to the rear and front to pull it off regardless of wheel size. If you don't mind them being sunken in some like angeljoelv has on his then you won't need to do much if any work at all.

if getting a completely flush look is that much trouble with the 18x10, then I guess I'll go with the 18x10 on all corners with the same offset as Angel's. They still look very good!

SPHINX144 06-01-2010 09:55 PM

by the way, do these wheels work with the TPMS?

J8635621 06-01-2010 10:01 PM

You can get a flush look with any width wheel, just adjust the offset. Get the wheel that fits the tire you want to run and/or has the look you want (concave or bigger lip). For ideas, read the 19234234 posts in the Will It Fit thread.

angeljoelv 06-01-2010 10:02 PM

also Rishie is very good at what he does. Just contact him and he will let you know what you need.

laythor 06-01-2010 10:05 PM

+1 for letting Rishie help you out. He's one of the rare breed who loves what he does.

SPHINX144 06-01-2010 10:08 PM

I mostly want a concave look, I was already suggested by Richie that in that case 18x10 would be ideal in our car.

Again, it all depends on how low you are and how much negative camber you're running. It's never just one factor. If you for example use a 255/35 tire as many do, you'll get around having to modify the sheet metal inside the front wheel well to clear it when turning and lowered. The downside is your speedo will be off.

18x10 doesn't make this issue alone, low offset contributes a lot to the problem along with tire size, camber, and height. Even with a 255/35, with a low offset you will have to roll the rears as the metal sticks out quite a bit to hit the tire when lowered.

Lastly, these rims are TPMS compatible. I bought some online to install so I could keep the stock ones as well.

any news? :fingersx:

Endless Rotaries 06-03-2010 11:48 AM

I'm sure hoping this week that all will get out except Atilla's. Supposedly they are powdercoating Atilla's set because not enough piano black came. So frikin' time consuming working with these guys. I've never had to followup so much on a set of wheels are had to wait this long for a set of rims.

I pray to god that all but Atilla will be out this week, and Atilla should be ready to pickup in 2 weeks I hope.

Rishie

Please don't ask for any updates. I will update as soon as I get something. Hoping by Monday.

Rishie, is it true iForged and Forgestar are the same company?
