New track wheel at Tire Rack

We have just recieved a new wheel that was designed for track use only due to the aggressive nature. The TR Motorsports MT1 is only available in an 18X9.5 fitment with a 45mm offset. They weigh in at 19 lbs and come with a matte grey finish. They are currently priced at 369.00 each. With the correct mods (fender lip rolling and camber adjustment) you can use a 265/40/18 competiton tire.

Nice wheel, but for the price you can still get the RPF1's a touch cheaper and 2lbs lighter...

the 18 x 9.5 +45 Enkei RP-F1 @ 17.2# each can be bought from vendors here for $300 each shipped ... and no mods required on the RX-8. I'm running 18 x 10.5 +43 with Advan Neova AD07 265/35-18 lowered without fender mods (all purchased from TR). You can run up to a 285/30 on the 9.5 +45 without mods.

I'm a bit bitter about the TR getting an exclusive on the SSR Type C-RS and then not providing all the sizes

Is TireRack a vendor on the site? If so, show a little respect for the people who help pay to keep this website going, folks.

I dont see a lack of respect...simply observations in regards to competition...it is a free market and maybe the feedback will be taken in a positive manner.

Kudos to TR for bringing in some decent track wheels at a pretty good price

I agree, TR is great, but they don't carry either of my current two favorite tire brands - Falken and Nitto. I've had to pass them by three tire purchases now... (hint hint).... along with 2 sets of wheels to go with them! That's a chunk of change.

TR- why don't you carry these brands?

Now if only they'd let you search by wheel specs instead of make/model of car.

That's a switch. Last time I called, the guy who answered said he had basically the same info as everyone on the web. Still, if they've got the info, they ought to let us use. I'm sure it'd increase their sales.

Haa...I dont think he ment "Just Track" use...but at least another wheel which is resonably light and at a good price for track use...I think...

True but I always read that like..."For Off-Road Use Only"...Yea sure, unless its for a Rancho suspension I'm not buyin that Jibba-Jabba...

Not like the wheel is going to explode me thinks in this situation...

"Aggressive Nature" probably due to the size and his thoughts that the RX would require rolling of the fenders and whatnot...It's not really aggressive as its simply a size that we know works...except THEY think it requires work to fit...

So anyone actually running these wheels and have some pics?

I like the look, are priced reasonable, and are relatively lightweight. From some research the wheels are made by Enkei for Tire Rack Motorsport

Not on an RX-8, but on my co-workers BMW 335i: http://public.fotki.com/makofoto/200...462mg6051.html

The TR does not come in the right size for the rear of his car, and they don't have the right size SSR comp for the front, so this was the best track combo we could come up with.
