Somehow I don't anticipate tire slip on the wheel to be an RX-8 issue 
the 18 x 10.5 +38 would be perfect. Roll the rear fender lip and you're there. Going with +15 would be as showboat tardish of a move as they come. Suspension geometry and modification effort be damned, man I'm cool should always rule over being both smart and practical at the same time ....
