Need some rotor specs
 

Can someone tell me the specs on:

Base model rotor - diameter, thickness, etc

and for Sport model to GT - diameter, thickness, etc

I also want to know if the calipers are same size and just mounting is different... ie if wanting to go from base to GT.

When you change rotor diameters you have to change either the caliper piston diameter or the master cylinder pistion diameter or both to arrive at the proper clamping force for the new rotor diameter to maintain the proper front to rear brake bias. To make the proper conversion you would need the rotors, caliper, master cylinder, booster, and rear proportioning valve. I'm not sure but the ABS unit may be different as well. Your best bet for improved brake performance might be to just get stickier tires and change to a more aggressive street pad and leave it at that. If you aren't getting uneven pad deposits on your rotors you aren't exceeding the thermal range of your braking system as it is. If you can lock up your wheels (or set off the ABS) with the existing setup, the only advantage to switching to the sport GT brakes would be thermal range and fade resistance and you can manage that with different pads alone. There are people successfully tracking cars without fade with lesser brake systems than the base model AT RX8.

I guess I should explain why I'm looking for a specific spec. I'm trying to use RX8 brake system in another rotary car. I know the Sport/MT rotors will fit but its bit too large.

Do you know if the AT rotor thickness is the same as Sport/MT rotors? I think the slightly smaller diameter of AT rotors will work perfectly with my project. Also if AT rotors offset is the same as Sport/MT rotors.....

You may want to PM ASH8 for that. He has access to all the part listings and likely has access to the specs as well.

The Mazda manual I have access to only lists 1 minimum thickness, perhaps both diameter fronts have the same minimum thickness, I don't know for sure.

I guess I'll post it on RX8 discussion and see if someone can measure the thickness for me and the offset..
