Need some opinions

I have the stock nice rims and tires on my 8 that they came with. I like them, but I was wondering if it would look better dropped a little. I have never lowered a car before and didnt know if you could do it with stock parts or do I have to buy new parts? Also if I did it what seems to be the magic spot for the 8 to look good? Thanks in advance guys.

It looks a alot better lowered, even with the stock rims. There is a sticky I believe on different springs. Check it out.

Here is a picture of my 8 lowered on springtech springs with the stock wheels.

here is another pic too before I lowered it:

also, window tint, clear side markers matching headlights/sidemarkers/fog light bulbs look great on the 8 as well to answer your other question.

Yeah I did some clear markers already and my 8 looks very similar to yours, how low did you drop it, like an inch? also do you have to buy aftermarket springs to do it?

it dropped it 2 inches and yes you need aftermarket springs. Mine are springtech's. A popular one seems to be tanabe or tein

Most all of your parts for suspension will be aftermarket, unless you purchase from the Mazda Dealer who may have Mazda Speed parts etc.

So, you want to lower your car? For looks or is there some more specific reason for it? Auto X, track events etc? Then you might want to consider going that extra step beyond just lowering springs such as coilovers (which will replace your entire suspension and allow you to have height and dampening adjustability).

However, if your 8 is all about daily driving and no track events, lowering springs will be ideal. Just keep in mind that lowering the car will cause the strut travel to be shortened and after some time you will have to replace the oem struts that you mating with your lowering springs. The OEM struts will after time blow out because of the less amount of stroke.

Another good aftermarket spring manufacture is Swift.

Safe Driving!
