Need new tire advice
Just sold my WRX for an RX8 so i'm a Mazda nOOb. The tires that came on my Rx8 were some cheapo Dunlops that squeel all the time. So i'm looking to upgrade to something more aggressive. I'm open to any suggestions/testimonials.
Thanks

I wanted to put on a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE050A...
The tire shop installed RE040s for some odd reason (one of the stock tires - although the ones I have are a different tread pattern than my previous tires). The Potenza S0-3 Pole Positions looked good but didn't seem to review very high.
Check out Tirerack.com
How many miles are on the 8 you just purchased. IIRC Dunlop was the other OEM tire.

I'm looking at Potenza 050A, and the Pirelli Pzero Nero tires myself. Price is probably going to be the deciding factor. (Guy at discount tire recommended the Pirili Pzero Neros..)

I've already checked out the tire rack.com but I find it hard to take some people serious especially the ones who drive V6 mustangs etc... so i'd like to get the review of someone who actuall owns a car that handles well.

You want the tire with the best traction short of R Compound tires. Go for a set of 245/40/18 (assuming you are on stock rims) Falken Azenis RT-615. Absolute best "traction" tire you can buy. If you want superior traction (though not quite a s good as the Falkens, go for the Toyo T1R tires. Treadwear 280. I bought mine at www.edgeracing.com.

this is going to come off as a jack *** comment, but if your tires are sqeeling you might want to check your air pressure. or stop trying to drift.
but you are smarter than that. the dunlop and bridgestones that came on the car are not crap. they just get loud real fast. it is all about tradeoffs.
