No data is collected its just their experienced professional 3 maybe 5 year career with one car that is barely out of warranty that matters.

Perhaps we're not doing this just to **** on someone's creation, but rather to discuss ideas and the proper way to approach something. After all, Chris is in relatively uncharted waters, spending quite a bit of resources on this, and I don't think any of us wants to see him end up in a tree. He's got some good ideas, but a few of us have concerns, and the best way to figure out a good design is to address the concerns or at least figure out that they actually are not an issue. At least that's the way we do it in engineering.

By the same logic, I posted up my Bilstein build because I wanted the opinions of the people on this board. In fact, had someone posted earlier about my initial spring rate choices, I would've been able to avoid an expensive mistake. As it is, Eric Meyer managed to catch my problem before it went on the car, but after I had already bought the springs. I really wished there had been more technical discussion, negative or positive, when I was building my Bilsteins and hence I feel discussing technical issues with Chris now might (MIGHT) be helpful to him.

So far the calipers were about 450.00 shipped...and the rotors (all four) where 180.00...so you do the math...basically less than 700...they even included the hawk hps pads and some universal braided lines (i don't know if these will work on my car though) and I don't know if this deal is repeatable, it was the guy's last set. I made the brackets myself so that was "free" even though there are material costs and machining time which I performed myself.

So far it has been very cost effective, I don't know if I would be able duplicate these costs though but it was definitely worth my time and effort to see if it would work.

Best regards,

Chris

Wow. Four cross drilled rotors for $180? That's pretty cheap.

Holy crap, take a pill and relax. I've read through all of this thread, and I didn't find a single person shitting on his idea. I personally questioned its value, but as far as I know I never came out and said it was a terrible idea and he was an idiot for trying. Hell, I even apologized to him for expressing my doubt because I was missing some information!

As a matter of fact, I'm a lot more educated on the subject than I was at this time last week because of this thread. It's been a lot more helpful than the typical responses of "Oh dude, that is SICK!". There is such a thing as constructive criticism.

Don't get me wrong, there is no shortage of know-it-alls on this forum, and it is annoying. I just can't imagine what in this thread could have made you blow a gasket. Unless maybe I missed something?

It was more of a general response to all the BS I've read over the past year or so.

Sorry I lost it...

I guess my issue is people rarely give neutral feedback its always from a know-it-all perspective.

Oh well happy posting.

I was just lucky. Like I said, I doubt this would be repeatable at the same cost and therefore if I were to do it again I'd probably go with one of the kits available out there. I just found a guy that had the calipers sitting and they were his last set and he sold them to me for that price. The rotors you can get even cheaper but I wanted rotors that were double angle chamfered and coated with anti rust coating so it ended up in that price range.
