Kumhos ECSTA MX's Review

The review for now is only based on two days of daily driving and one event on a wet track. I got 245 40ZR18

Daily Driver- A little more noisy then stock, ride comfort has not changed, keep in mind I have the MS suspension. Only two days so far, will post more later.

Track Tire- I only got to use it in the rain so far, our Road America event got rained on. All I have to say is that for $162 a piece, this is a great tire. It performed better in the rain then my stock Dunlops. I ran stock Dunlops at RA and Autobahn in the rain and I was able to post faster time in the MX’s, I was able to go faster into turns with no issues. I felt confident hitting 110 on the straights; in the dry I normally hit 115 to 120. My exit speed didn’t allow me to go faster then 110, though if I could I would of. When all is said and done I’m glad I opted for these, great economical tire that performed well.

Granted this was in the wet, I have yet to test them in the dry. That will come in two weeks at Gingerman Raceway, will post further results later.

Didn't realize you picked-up a set of these. BlueRen seems to like them also. I've got no complaints regarding my MXs.

Yeah, I'm sure they're not the greatest tire, but for the price they've performed well enough for my liking.

I have not tracked mine yet but I agree with the post above.

The only thing I did notice though...Over time the tires have gotten louder but they are not bugging me.

Treadwear - Great
Performance - sticky but I wish the sidewalls were a little stiffer (aka more feedback). Much better than stock.
Ride/Comfort - excellent

Miles on tires - approx. 10 k and plenty left

I love them! But keep in mind we have a RWD car. I was just at a meet see (west threads) and I was taking a turn not a u-turn and got to sliding at 20+mph and I have a AT. All in all they look and feel great on dry conditions.

What kind of weight are these? Seems like an odd question, but Ill be looking for a good tire, but lighter weight when these Azenis wear out.

WOW, that's strange that they lost grip. A member here was at the same RA track day and he was taking those corners hella fast with no issues.

Yea, I spoke to Blue last week about them. Really happy with them. Seeing how he takes the corners at RA I am confident they will be great on a dry track.
