Koni troubles?!

Installed half of my Koni struts last night. Was busy checking out and making sure I put the hardware back on correct. Took a hour to drop the suspension out of the car but 4hrs dicking off swapping struts.

Problem
I finished up the fronts and install them. I didnt move my car far enough into the garage so had to use a floor jack under the rear dif to push it in enough. While it sat there and I was cleaning up my tools I used the key to adjust the stiffness. Figure id set it to full stiff and see how it settles over night. When I did the whole strut moves around. Its bolted in by the 3 bolts on the strut tower but the actually threaded part of the rod moves around. I pushed down on the corner panel and it was like it was moving up and down and all around. So it was midnight and I had to be awake at 4am at this point so I said F it and went to bed. I think I had a nightmare of my wheels falling off when I was driving some where. Now im sitting here blasting holes through the airplane spacing off about if I assembled them right.

I can only think that the rubber dougnuts above the metal cover on top of the bump stop and the cap holding the spring didnt seat right. That or I preloaded something wrong. Its bugging me cause I cant go home and drop them out of the car again and look.

Am I smoking Dozer crack and thats just how its suppose to be? I mean it shakes around but the cap is locked in. The top nut is fully tighten down to the bottom or close to the threads.

Ill prob go home and look at it again when not half asleep and go "Ooohh! Im retarded".

I didnt take really any pictures of the install. I had Anjio and Angrybumblebee eating pizza standing over me like a management team.

Ugh...

post pics if you have any... sounds like the shock & spring asm isn't put together right. I would double check on the donuts/metal washers part and make sure everything is torqued right

My elbow is calibrated to torque specs. I have to follow by strict torque specs on airplanes. My elbow even clicks its that pro.

Far as pictures go. Ill solve the problem when I get home so no need. Its just bugging me sitting here at work.

Fixed my problem. The cap above the bump stop I drilled to big. That was the case of staying up to late and beer. Oh well. New caps from mazda sitting on the bench ready to go.

Was cheap to just replace it. Now it rides like a brick! I need to get a alignment today and that should stop my rubbing issues.
