KDW-2's are on

Stuck in a love triangle
Last week I drovethe tires at 36 PSI. All this did was caused bumps to feel a lot worse when driving over them justlike when the Potenzas were overinflated. It didnt help w/the handling at all. I guess the problemis the Potenzas had a stiffer shoulder - something I completely neglected toexamine when I bought these tires. When I take the same violent turns that I would normally execute w/the Potenzas in these KDW-2s ..the car gets wobbly and starts losing traction - tires screech - and DSC regularly comes on. I havent had any big spills yet but thats probably b/c Im afraid to push it w/these tires.
Oh well -they were cheaper than Potenzas andhave a longer treadlife. I guess thats a good enough justification. Oh andthe tread design is pretty too.

I just had these tires installed on Tuesday. Still less than 100 miles on them, and to me, they are loud as hell. I had the Dunlop 8090 on my 8 from the dealer. They were whisper quiet, from the day i bought the car with plenty of grip, dry or wet. And they lasted just over 20K miles.
After the time you guys have had the KDW's, has the road noise gone down. I feel like I am driving an old truck with knobby 44" mud tires. It is that loud. Especially at slow speed, I can almost feel every tread block hit the road.
As for wet, it has rained since I got them, and they are great, they hook up fast, even with DSC turned off, tested last night. Today is the first dry day, I will see how they fare on my way home. I hope I don't regret being a little cheap, these were $70 less per tire than the Dunlops.

My road noise has not gone down and I agree--it is louder than OEMs. I dont know what mitch was talkingabout when he said these were quieter. Not that I really carecause Ive always got the radio/system turned on

Thanks for confirming what I was afraid of. When I was reading reviews of the tire, soem said they wre quiet. Must have been in a car with a lot of sound deadening. I too usually have the radio on, but a lot of times I don't. Oh well, I am getting used to it. Most sports cars have a fair amount of road noise.

Don't know how loud the Dunlop's are. Mine came with RE040's. From what I've read on this board, the Dunlops are supposed to be quieter and grippier than the RE040's.
The BF's definitely quiet down after about 100 miles, quieter IMHO than stock. The BF's passed the wife test - she never told me that the tires sounded louder (believe me, she would let me know!) and she has excellent hearing.
Don't know why Jerky is having such issues with the BF's. This may sound dumb, but are you sure Costco mounted them correctly? There are arrows on the tires showing the proper direction of rotation.
BTW, I put Fuzions on my son's Mazda3 and he loves 'em. Very inexpensive. Anyone out there put them on the 8?
