Just got my HP Evos and Kumho SPT's

Just got my new set up installed. I've been riding on stock for a little over a year, and with a badly bent rim, bubbled tire, curb rash on other rims, and 29,000 miles on the stock Bridgestones which had no tread left on them, I decided to shell out the cash and get a new set of wheels and tires. I'll let the pics speak for the aesthetics of the whole set up. I got the HP Evo's from www.wheelguyz.com I was a little worried about buying from them since i've heard bad things, but lemme tell you I have had nothing but world-class service from these upstanding guys! Based on reviews and price, I picked up the Kumho Ecsta SPT in 245/40/18 all around from Tirerack.com. Dealer mounted and transferred TPMS for 15 bucks a wheel and 70 bucks for a wheel alignment. First impressions of the tires were WOW...the car is actually silent now! Its amazing how loud the RE040's were at 29,000 miles. Now I can actually hear the rotary and have a conversation on the phone without straining my hearing and sounding like im shouting. The ride is alot more comfortable than stock. Even though I know i'm sacrificing some performance, I definately appreciate the more comfortable ride since I drive about 120 miles every day over NJ's shitty roads. In the turns, the car is definatly not as stiff as stock, probably due to the softer sidewalls. Dont get me wrong, the tires have huge amounts of grip (I havent been able to break loose yet), but the turn in reaction is a little spongier than before. However, after dropping the pressures (dealer set them at 40psi, I adjusted to 34) and breaking in the tires, it seems to be getting better. Oh well, looks like i'm going to have to mod the suspension...Tien Coilovers and RB sway bars should help a bit.

Looks like a damn 4x4..I need to SLAM this thing!

Rusty rotor hubs, yuck!

Very nice. I've always been fond of those wheels in silver. They look pretty darn good in black too. FYI...I put my sirius antennae on the inside deck of my car and still get perfect reception. You get the clean look and don't have to worry about vandilization.

Lookin' good!

Thats what I wanted the installer at Circuit CIty to do. But he had already mounted it on the trunk and told me that my dark tint would hinder the reception. He was probably just being lazy. Thanks for the comments on the wheels. I'm still a little torn between the black and hyperblack. I guess it depends on the type of look youre going for. I think once i drop the car and get a kit on it, the wheels make the car look good overall.

Sweet! I just had the Kumho's installed a week ago to replace the OEM Potenzas. So far, theyre, great. I kept the original wheels. Had them installed at Discount Tire. Only problem is they beat the hell out of my wheels while mounting.
