Yes, I've been taking pics through out the whole install, and plan on doing a complete write up!

So far so good, but there's a few tips you might want to have if you do suspension yourself to make it easier.

I even got pics of the rear inside the trunk, and with the rear trailing arms disconnected.

I have it 3/4 of the way done, but.......

Sway bar links... just like early WRX, they are plastic innerds with 4 press melt tabs at teh end of the "ball joint".

I just jb welded it back into place and hopefully it will hold just fine... heh compared to plastic!

I even had to wait for a tow truck for an hour and take about 45 mins to help the guy get it on the track and strapped down properly, LOL. This for my 03 R6, not the car.

I just work up and I'm going to get the heights adjusted right now, and should be able to get in for corner balancing next weekend

 

Glad to here it Syntrix. We installed ours this week. Give you a little hint on the rear to make the install go easier. Unbolt the endlinks on both sides of the sway bar and roll it out of the way. Then remove the mounting bolt for the main latteral link and move it out of the way. Now you have more room to drop the factory set up and it's way easier onthe fingers, trust me!

 

Yes, rear link needs to be dropped -- applies for any rear shock or spring install.

Yeah, dropping them is not a problem, just mark them so they are close, cause you are going to have to get an alignment anyway!

I agree that these are just a tiny bit harsher than stock going in a straight line, they really plant the car when getting at the limits in corners!

Hey Dan/Huff/Vivid or anyone else, was you JIC Box marked 9 and 5 for the springs?

Mine was.

Let the springs settle for a bit. I have looked at the pics in your post, and I think it might be an optical illusion if you are just looking at the fender and the gap to the wheel. Rears have less gap stock. Also you have the side skirt kit on that might be making it appear to look like the back is lower.

Either way, give it some time to settle, then park on a level surface, and walk way aways from your car and look at the bottom of it. Hopefully it's near even

I have my setup with the front just a tiny bit lower than the rears.

 

Also, for anyone that has done coilovers.....

Have you noticed that the shafts of the stock struts feel extra oily? Like a weak seal going into the strut body, but not leaking anywhere?

I was just really stunned at how oily the surface of the shafts were.

The shafts didn't seem over oiled on my set. The adjustment **** on the rear driver's side unit was frozen in place so I had to break it loose with a wench. I'm thinking of cutting out a small hole in the sheetmetal so I can stick my fingers in there to make ajustmentsl.

 

No, I meant the stock struts!!!

I'm also thinking of drilling a hole in the rear metal, and using some rubber tubing to get over the adjustment ****!

Hey, how was your box marked? Do you still have it? They are supposed to be 8/5, but my box was marked 9/5 and there's no marking on the springs to tell what they actually are!!!!!

I'm VERY pleased with them, and JIC has once again lived up to it's name!

EDIT: either way, we are a select few that are enjoying these coilovers before the public can actually get their hands on them. Good stuff so far, and shipments from japan to JIC should be 1st week in Dec!
