Installed new Hankook Ventus K104, 225-40-18

Finally got rid of my slicks

I like the Hankooks... very low noise!
Grip is also very good, especially when accelerating hard out of a turn, predictable.

Went for the 40 profile to enjoy the car a little more, i can say it works. Only downside is the speedo being off... but I don't mind... Real concern is the extra "fake" mileage that i will put on the car, since it's a lease...
Totals approx. 3-4% more mileage...

bumps are smoother, which was unexpected, but it's probably due to the fact that i am comparing new rubber to stock threadless rears and 3/32 fronts...

They look good too, it's nice to be seen as a serious driver again, instead of a pennyless, cap-wearing donut-doing moron!

good question...
225 is enough tract to keep me satisfied... i'm not trying to build a street hugger. If you'd see the roads we have here, having an rx-8 as a daily car is sortof exotic. In fact, I'm very surprised that i did not scrape somewhere after 35000 kms.

Out of curiosity, how wide can i go on stock rims? You obviously do not have stock wheels.
nice ride btw

Some say 255 is the max, but thats pushing it. 245 would be perfect for the stock rims.
