yea they are a very good looking tire..i heard that they are discontinuing them and replacing them with a newer unit..can someone confirm this?...nevermind..just clicked on the link..i think these are the new ones...doh!

KYRX8 03-16-2005 02:00 PM

yea the old RT 215, lovingly referred to as the Azenis sport, is going to be discontinued very soon an replaced with the RT-615

XDEEDUBBX 03-17-2005 06:33 PM

but are the replacements any better?

Am i the only one who isn't inspired by drift scenes behind a tire i'm looking at? Kinda funny marketing if it is supposed to be a high performance tire....of course i understand why tire companies would want to be behind the drifting scene and encourage you to drift.

How about totally UN-insirped! I was all hot on these too, just waiting.....UNTIL I stumbled upon that drifting marketing video stuff. If Falkens just appealing to the "smokin um up' drifters, I'm thinking it another high-hype, low cost, disposable tire for the tuner set.

But I hope not.... but nothing at all about real performance characteristics... so far :(

Hope springs eternal...let us know Hercules... and good luck! :)

The RT615 is supposed to be a auto-x tire, and a better one than the old style RT-215. I really dont see it making a great drifting tire, they are to sticky.

The 215 it's replacing has pretty much been the king of the Street Tire classes in autocrossing for the past three seasons. If you're not familiar with autocrossing, it's pretty much the antithesis of drifting. Whether the 615 will be as good or better remains to be seen, but we should start finding out in the next couple months.

Oh, i know the rep of the 215 and i know the difference between drifting and autocrossing, i just was commenting on the marketing on that particular page.
