I Need Black Rims...

Alright well I finally got the money up for some rims for my BB 8... but finding it quite hard to find rims that are black which aren't 18 X 7.5 ..... now to my understanding the steering would be affected dramatically with 7. 5 correct...or at least that is wha i was told....

Prospect Rims:

Falken Koblenz

( Also if anyone here has pix of their car wit black rims i'd appreciate it )

I have three sets of wheels These were an un-mounted set of OEM's I got off Ebay. You can also get oem's here from time to time. I also have a set of 17's with snow tires and stock rims with track tires on them. Having a large basement is nice.

I don't know who told you the steering would be affected dramatically with 7.5 wide rims but that's completely false. I have 18 x 7.5 on my car and the steering is no different than it was with 18 x 8. The advantage of the 7.5 is that the tire now sticks out past the edge of the rim just enough to protect the rim from damage if I accidentally scuff a curb while parking. Steering is fine.

I'll have to add to this about steering...

Lower wheel width normally translates into lower tire width... But not always... You can run some tire widths with multiple width wheels... aka the 225/45/18 stock tires on an 18x8 or 18x7.5 wheel

Tire width has a direct effect on grip... You go down on width, and you lose traction/handling.

Therefore, most people see a reduction of wheel width to be a negative for handling, though not always true. Contact patch is the name of the game.

you can sometimes run crazy tire widths on any size rim, on my s13 i had 245-45's on 7in wide wheels and 245-50 on an 8 in the back, worked perfect, right now i'm running a 235 on the back of the 8 w/ a 9in wide rim, stretching a tired can give diff efects. now i have 235-45 on an 8 in the front and it grips well, and the same size tire on a 9in wide wheel, its pretty stretched out, this make the car really rear end happy, but its very controlable cuz the sidewals hardly move, but on the 245 on the 6in wide wheel the tires rolled over a bit, but they were a stiff sideway so it just stuck, on the 8 i may try 255's next, we'll see
