Go with the stern st-1. It looks clean and it looks like it has the fattest lip, but that could be the difference in wideness.

I love the look of the stern st-1. I think 5 spoke (or paired 10 spoke) wheels are the only way to go on the 8. I've got a titanium gray, and I think those in hyper black would look great as my summer wheels. My only concern is how much they weigh. Does anyone know? I'm having trouble finding that info...

Edit: I found in one spot on 1010tires.com that the 18x8.5 in hyper silver weighs 26.85 lbs, a good amount heavier than the stockers...

The ST-1's are definately the way to go. I'm looking to put them on my brilliat black 8. treaptron is right, though, from a performance stand-point. They are definately going to weight you down by at least an extra 25 lbs (accumulatively). You just have to decide if its worth the look.

If you need a visualization of what the stern st-1's look like on an 8. I just so happenly took a picture of an rx8 while on vacation that had those type of wheels on it. Looks like the gunmetal color and not the black, but you get an idea. Thought this might help you decide my vote is for the stern st-1 too.

if you get the sterns let me know it the tmps will work with it.

i am torn between the same two rims except in hyperblack. i know the tpms will work with the hp evos.

btw,
i have a spare tpms sensor if you can find the rim local we could try it.

heres some pics with the EVOs in hyper silver on a couple black 8s.....the first 3 pics are 19s, offset with 8s in the frount and 9s in the back (if i remember right) ... the last 2 are 18 by 8s.

but if you really want to be happy with a set of rims, get what ever YOU like, not what everyone else thinks is nice. JMO

I am in the same boat and am pretty much bent on getting the stern's myself. There is a WB RX-8 on cardomain with these wheels on them. Check the link out. I think they look sweet and just can't imagine how nice they'll look on a BB. The other link is some wheels I found on ebay called "speedy octane" which kind of jumped out at me also. What ya'll think?
